Lady Diana Frances Spencer (née Diana Frances Mountbatten-Windsor; July 1, 1961 – August 31, 1997) was the first wife of Prince Charles and Princess of the United Kingdom from 1981 to 1997. From her marriage in 1981 until her death in 1997, Diana was considered the most famous woman in the world. Her contributions to fashion, beauty, AIDS awareness and her activism against landmines have made her famous. During her lifetime, Diana was said to be the most photographed woman in the world.


From their marriage in 1981 until their divorce in 1996, she was addressed as Her Royal Highness The Princess of Wales. After that, by order of Queen Elizabeth II, she was allowed to be addressed simply as Diana, Princess of Wales. His sons, Princes William and Harry, are second and third respectively in the line of succession to the British Masons.



Diana is widely recognized in the international arena. He was known for his generosity. But his philanthropic activities were overshadowed by rumors of various scandals, including his marriage scandal. Diana's marriage to Charles was not a happy one. In the 1990s, Diana's strange love story made headlines around the world. They finally divorced in 1996 due to various reasons, including Charles' infidelity.


In 1997, Diana and her then-boyfriend Dodi Fayed were killed in a car accident in Paris, France.
